The Great Bathroom Adventure- pt.1

Back in April, I posted about our unfortunate bathroom color... it seemed like a good idea at the time, but just didn't flow with the space. And so, not even 2 months after the color was painted, we went back to the drawing boards, trying to figure out how to make the most of our space. The colors we ended up choosing were Stormy Monday 2112-50 for the walls:

and Summer Shower 2135-60  for the ceiling. Somehow, we ended up having a rain theme- I think the inspiration must have been our wonderful rainfall shower head! :-)

And so, we went from this:

To this!:

The transformation begins!
True, it's not as eye-popping as the purple, but, it makes the space feel twice as big- and makes our bathroom look like a showroom. And I'm pleased that the gray does have a purple undertone. It has a very modern and upscale feel now. I think that painting the ceiling was such a great idea, as it covered some of the imperfections, and now it feels like we have a bit of sky in our bathroom- it gives off a spa sort of feel.
Ah, cheap paint! - Benjamin Moore colors in Behr Paint-
my secret love affair!

I removed the useless towel bar...

... and we installed some new hooks for towels!

Here's a shot of the wall and ceiling colors meeting

When we painted the sample swatch of gray on the wall, there was a bit of hesitation, but the color looks so good, and I'm really happy with the outcome. As mentioned in the title, this is only part 1 of the bathroom update. Still to come (I'm not sure when..) are some personalized caricature artwork and a shelving unit!
